Hi Daughters of Lilith!
My name is Bibi and I live in California. I would like to extend a kind hello out to you girls in the UK.
I believe in creating and growing friendships 'round the world in an effort to foster kindness and understanding, encouragement and support.
So just thought I'd stop by to thank you all for keeping the dance alive in the UK, and for allowing me to post.
If you'd like to join my "baby" tribe (only 2 listed members and 2 friends so far), you are more than welcome to. The Bibi tribe is all about the glow...of kindness, encouragement, acceptance, growth, fun...and a whole lot more.
Have a great day!
Health & Happiness,
Bibi

Re: Hello from California!
Sun, June 26, 2005 - 2:02 PMHi Bibi,
Nice to meet you :) It's good to hear from people around the world - the belly dance scene in the UK is really small and the Gothic and Tribal aspects are almost non-existent except for a few really good groups like the 'Daughters of Lilith', 'Khalgani', 'Caravanserai' etc... I'm not actually one of the Daughters of Lilith (I'm not being big-headed when I say they're a wonderful group!!) but enjoy Goth belly dance and, since meeting the girls from this board, I'm addicted to tribal!!
Hope to get to know you better

Mon, June 27, 2005 - 4:01 PMHi Saviya!
Nice to hear from you!
Tribal has a lot to offer....you might want to check out Carolena Nericcio's site, the famous FatChanceBellyDance of San Francisco. It's great! Ask for a catalog and have fun shopping....
Well...now you have a contact in California --- me!
California, where bellydance is alive and well and thriving.
Tribal and goth styles are huge over here, absolutley huge!
Take care Saviya and write to me anytime, ok?
Have a great day!
Health & Happiness,
Bibi

Re: Hello from California!
Sun, July 3, 2005 - 6:22 PMNice to hear from you too, Bibi! We're quite big fans of Fat Chance but also love The Indigo, Kajira Djoumahna & Black Sheep, and Gypsy Caravan.
Unfortunately buying Tribal supplies from the states is very expensive - import duty is astronomical! But we have lovely people like Dawn from the Midlands troupe Khalgani, and Michelle Pender from the troupe Caravanserai in Manchester who sell us lovely things and make us spend all our money.....
The Welsh girls are some of the very few gothic / tribal bellydancers we know in the UK, it's still a tiny scene here!
How I long to save up enough money to visit California and meet all you inspirational people....
Love, Francesca XXX
